Matty opened the gym with the aim to provide the highest quality equipment and coaching for strength athletes. Matty is the coach for Galway Powerlifting & Strongman club and also coaches from a wide range of sports including GAA and MMA.
Ayshea Ullah joined as a coach in 2018. Ayshea is an avid promoter of health, wellbeing, female empowerment through sport and is Irelands leading female strength athlete holding the title of Irelands strongest woman for two years running aswell holding various powerlifting records.

We are a community driven gym and encourage members to support each other whenever possible, this not only makes training more enjoyable but leads to better results.

If you are just starting back into fitness after a period of absence or if you have never done any form of class/training before, this is the best place to start. We will be keeping it fresh and the body guessing by alternating through 3 different training styles. Incorporating powerlifting/functional strength, circuits/boot camp and Strongwoman events, you should never be bored of coming to a Mom Strong session. We focus on your technique and correct execution of the exercise from the beginning so to give you the best possible base. You will be challenged and encouraged to constantly improve whilst steadily getting stronger week by week. Weight loss, strength gain and increased fitness are side effects of these classes…if that’s your goal…come along and try them out! We also provide a fortnightly weigh in if desired and assistance with diet planning. It is also an opportunity for you to meet other Moms with the same goals.
Active Retired
Small classes aimed at adults over 55 who have little or no strength training experience. All levels catered for and classes are tailored to the needs of the individual. This is a great way to meet people with similar interests and train in a supportive environment. This could possibly be the first step for some of you into the Galway Powerlifting Club should you decide to join. If not it’s still the best way to start your powerlifting journey or improve on your existing level.

From absolute beginners to seasoned Strongman/Strongwoman athlete, this is the place to be. Its fun, challenging, and gets the body moving whilst getting stronger.
